Ariana Grande plans to take a significant step back from public visibility following the conclusion of her Eternal Sunshine tour. This decision comes amidst what her representative described to People as "endless, ongoing public scrutiny," particularly concerning her appearance and weight. The tour is scheduled to wrap up in London on September 1.
Grande has reportedly exited the West End musical "Sunday in the Park with George," which was slated to open in London in the summer of 2027. A statement from the production confirmed her departure, expressing understanding and support for her decision.
The scrutiny surrounding Grande's appearance intensified after the recent release of her music video for "Petal." Many comments on the video and related online discussions have focused on her physical changes. This follows a period of consistent public attention, including promotional tours for the "Wicked" film adaptations. Grande starred as Glinda in the two-part "Wicked" movie series, which achieved substantial box office success, grossing over $1.3 billion globally. The first film was released in 2024, with "Wicked: For Good" following in 2025, both involving extensive promotional appearances by the star.
Beyond the "Eternal Sunshine" tour, Grande is slated to appear in the upcoming "Meet the Parents" sequel, "Focker-in-Law," set for a November release. It remains uncertain whether she will participate in promotional activities for the film. She is also set to voice a character in an animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ "Oh, the Places You’ll Go!," scheduled for March 17, 2028. Grande had previously shared her excitement for this project in a July 2025 Instagram post.
After completing her current tour and taking a break from public engagements, Grande intends to focus on her well-being. Her representative emphasized that she looks forward to finishing the tour on a high note, feeling both healthy and happy before commencing her deserved rest.
