Actor and TV host Mario Lopez recently posted an AI-generated video of his 19-year-old niece, Kalia Wong, engaging in an unusual and widely criticized act, which he has since removed from his social media accounts. The clip, created using Grok's AI video tools, depicted Wong eating multiple hot dogs in a manner that drew significant negative attention before Lopez deleted it.

On August 2, Lopez shared several posts from a Los Angeles Dodgers game he attended with his niece. Among these was the controversial AI-generated video. In the clip, Wong is shown eating three hot dogs, with the AI altering the footage to show her shirt opening and mustard flying from her mouth as Lopez watches and exclaims, “Oh my god, look at you! You’re a mess, the mustard!” Lopez accompanied the video with the caption, “I can’t take my niece anywhere!”

The video was quickly met with widespread disapproval online. Journalist Yashar Ali was among those who saved a recording of the clip and shared it, highlighting the disturbing nature of the content and the fact that the subject was Lopez's niece. Many social media users described the video as creepy and disgusting. Following the backlash, Lopez deleted the original post.

While Lopez has not offered an explanation for creating or sharing the AI-generated video, further online commentary suggests ongoing criticism. Some users have referenced his other social media posts, including one where he discussed training to "scare away his daughter’s future boyfriends," with comments targeting him as a "creepy uncle."
