Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has outlined extensive future plans for the X-Men, suggesting that the franchise could encompass "100 more" films. The upcoming X-Men reboot's primary cast was recently revealed at Disney's D23 fan event. The new ensemble includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

Speaking at the Disney Worldbuilders panel, Feige emphasized that the young age of the confirmed cast allows for "sagas upon sagas" of storytelling, drawing from decades of rich comic book history. He expressed enthusiasm for exploring these narratives, many of which have yet to be depicted on screen. "Having 85, almost 90 years of comic book history, there's so many stories yet to tell," Feige stated. "We announced a very young, new cast for a property called X-Men the other day. And that's great, because there's been 10 great X-Men movies [but] there can be 100 more."

Marvel is preparing to conclude the cinematic run of Fox's legacy X-Men actors in the forthcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Reports suggest that actors such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden will reprise their iconic roles, with McKellen hinting at a plotline involving Magneto destroying New Jersey. The fate of these characters following Avengers: Doomsday remains uncertain.

In the interim, Marvel has already initiated the introduction of its new generation of X-Men. Jean Grey made an appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, initially portrayed as an antagonist. The film concluded with Jean en route upstate, presumably to encounter other mutants or potentially appear in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Marvel's upcoming film slate is detailed, with Avengers: Doomsday scheduled for December 18, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027. The X-Men movie is slated for release on May 5, 2028, leading a busy year for Marvel. Ghost Rider, starring Ryan Gosling, will follow on July 28, and Black Panther 3 is set to conclude the year on December 15.
