The Pokémon Company has unveiled a unique addition to its 30th-anniversary merchandise lineup: carry-on bags. These bags are designed to appeal to fans with a combination of functional features and nostalgic Pokémon designs.
The luggage comes in three color variations, each representing a fundamental starter element. The exterior of the bags showcases a collection of starter Pokémon spanning 30 years of the franchise's history. For example, the red bag features Charmander and Litten, while the blue one includes Squirtle and Popplio. Internally, the bags are equipped with dividers for organization and display full-color renditions of the same starter Pokémon. Additional thematic details include Poké Ball-shaped zipper pulls and a side hook for attaching small accessories.
A standout feature of these carry-on bags is a dedicated window near the top, specifically designed to display plush toys. This element allows travelers to showcase their favorite Pokémon companions during transit, with The Pokémon Center offering a wide selection of plushies, including the Pokopia-themed and Sitting Pokémon Cuties lines, that are well-suited for this display.
Currently, these anniversary bags have only been announced for release in Japan. This limited availability is a common occurrence for specialized Pokémon merchandise, often leading to international fans seeking imported items or encountering higher prices from resellers.
