Sarah J. Maas, author of the immensely popular A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series, has unveiled the titles and covers for the next two installments: A Court of Splintered Harmony and A Court of Forgotten Melody. The announcements were made on Maas's Instagram, accompanied by teaser descriptions "What was broken will be remade" and "What was lost will be reclaimed."
During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Maas revealed the release dates for these upcoming books. A Court of Splintered Harmony is slated for release on October 27, 2026, followed by A Court of Forgotten Melody on January 12, 2027.
The ACOTAR series, which follows three sisters navigating a world of faerie intrigue, danger, and romance, has achieved significant commercial success. Bloomsbury reported last year that the series has sold over 75 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 40 languages. To mark the announcement of the new books, the publisher has initiated a significant promotional campaign, including billboards in New York's Times Square.
Maas also addressed the status of a potential ACOTAR television adaptation, which was reportedly canceled by Hulu last year. She emphasized her commitment to book releases while also stating her desire for creative control over any future adaptations. "I want to be a part of that and I want to see everything adapted the way I envision it and the way I know fans want it," Maas stated, expressing a preference for maintaining artistic integrity over demographic-driven changes. She affirmed that any adaptation would be a project she fully dedicates herself to.
Both A Court of Splintered Harmony and A Court of Forgotten Melody are currently available for preorder.
