The campaign to fund a feature film continuation of the popular web series The Guild has achieved remarkable success, raising over $2.5 million in less than 24 hours. This surge in fan contributions far surpassed the initial $1.5 million goal required to produce "The Guild: Ren Faire'd," a film set to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary in 2027.

Felicia Day, creator of The Guild, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support. "This community has been part of The Guild since the very beginning, and the fact that fans are once again coming together to help us tell this story means more than I can say," Day stated. She added that reuniting the original cast, known as the Knights of Good, to make this movie is an "incredible first step."

The film will see the original cast reunite for a plot involving a renaissance faire. The campaign has attracted a variety of pledge levels, with a $1,000 premiere bundle, including screening tickets and a signed script, already selling out. Higher tiers, such as the $25,000 guild master bundle, offer more exclusive experiences like a role as an extra and a private gaming session with Day.

Notable guest stars are also slated to appear, including Wil Wheaton, who reprises his role as Fawkes, the leader of the rival guild Axis of Anarchy. Day indicated that the script is complete and expressed confidence in bypassing traditional Hollywood avenues to realize her vision for the movie, emphasizing a desire to create the film on her own terms. The Guild first gained popularity in 2007, with its initial season funded through PayPal donations before crowdfunding became widespread.
