75-Inch TCL QM8L 4K TV Sees 50% Discount Ahead of Black Friday

The 75-inch TCL QM8L 4K TV, a 2026 model featuring Super Quantum Dot (SQD) technology, has reached its lowest price ahead of Black Friday. Both Amazon and Best Buy are offering the television for $1,499.99, a 50% discount from its usual price, with free shipping included.

Amazon Prime cardholders can further reduce the cost by receiving an additional 10% cashback on top of the existing discount, raising their total back to 10% instead of the standard 5%.

TCL's SQD Technology

The QM8L represents a notable upgrade from the previous QM8K model, primarily due to the integration of TCL's SQD technology. SQD, or Super Quantum Dot, is an advanced iteration of QLED technology. It utilizes microscopic crystals, some as small as one nanometer in width, to achieve more precise color separation. This refinement allows SQD panels to incorporate a greater number of dimming zones, often numbering in the thousands. The result is a brighter image with enhanced contrast and richer colors.

The larger 98-inch variant of this series boasts up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness and over 4,000 local dimming zones. Coupled with TCL's new Halo Control System, the QM8L aims to mitigate the halo effect commonly seen in LED LCD TVs when contrasting elements of light and dark appear adjacent to each other. This technological advancement helps bridge the visual gap between LED LCD and OLED displays.

For gamers, the QM8L offers a native 144Hz refresh rate and includes four HDMI 2.1 ports, making it a suitable option for current-generation console gaming.
