Snyder and Capullo's Batman run is frequently recommended for new readers looking to engage with the character's comics. The series is noted for reinventing Bruce Wayne while maintaining his core appeal, and for introducing new villains and concepts that have become integral to Batman lore. The "Court of Owls" storyline, in particular, is highlighted for its introduction of a secret society that manipulates Gotham, fundamentally altering Batman's perception of his city. Following this, "Death of the Family" offers a darker exploration of the Joker's relationship with Batman and the Bat-Family.
The enduring appeal of the series is attributed to its blend of high-stakes action and psychological depth. Greg Capullo's artwork is recognized as some of the strongest visual work on the Batman title, while Snyder's writing consistently challenges the character in new ways. The offer on Vol. 1, priced at $60.52, is presented as an easy recommendation for those new to this era of Batman comics.
