Amazon is offering a significant discount on Apple's third-generation AirPods Pro, reducing their price to £183 for Prime Day. This deal represents a saving of £36 off the standard retail price of £219.
These latest AirPods Pro feature a redesigned fit with memory-foam-infused silicone eartips, aimed at providing a more secure seal and enhanced comfort. Apple claims the active noise cancellation (ANC) is twice as effective as the previous generation, which, combined with the improved seal, contributes to a more immersive listening experience, particularly in noisy environments. The transparency mode has also been enhanced for a more natural soundscape, allowing users to better hear their surroundings without removing the earbuds.
Durability has seen an upgrade as well, with the AirPods Pro 3 boasting an IP57 rating for dust and sweat resistance, a notable improvement from the IPX4 rating of their predecessors. This makes them more suitable for workouts and use in varied weather conditions.
Battery performance has been extended, with Apple reporting up to eight hours of listening time with ANC enabled, an increase of two hours over the prior model. With transparency mode, this extends to ten hours. The included MagSafe charging case provides an additional 24 hours of battery life, allowing for multiple days of use between charges. Charging can be done via USB-C or wirelessly.
Underpinning these features is Apple's H2 chip, which manages ANC and powers intelligent functions. Spatial Audio with head tracking aims to deliver an immersive sound experience for media, while Adaptive Audio dynamically adjusts noise cancellation and transparency based on the user's environment. The earbuds also include a heart rate sensor for fitness tracking and support Live Translation with compatible iPhones, leveraging Apple Intelligence.
While the AirPods Pro 3 offer robust functionality, they perform best within Apple's ecosystem, providing seamless pairing and features like automatic device switching and Find My. They can connect to non-Apple devices via Bluetooth, but some smart features will be unavailable. Apple includes five sizes of eartips to help users find the optimal fit.
This Prime Day offer positions the AirPods Pro 3 at a competitive price point, presenting a compelling option for those seeking upgraded noise cancellation, a more secure fit, and extended battery life in a compact package.
