Asus ROG Ally X Z1 Extreme Features
The ROG Ally X, released in late 2025, is positioned as a high-performance handheld. It is powered by an AMD Z1 Extreme CPU and boasts 24GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, paired with a 2TB SSD. This configuration offers substantial power, exceeding that found in some competing handhelds like the Steam Deck, Xbox Ally, and Legion Go S, and is surpassed only by devices costing over $1,000 which feature the Z2 Extreme APU.
The handheld features a 7-inch display with a 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Significant upgrades from its predecessor include an 80Wh battery, which is double the capacity of the original ROG Ally, aiming to provide extended playtime of up to five to six hours on a single charge. The 2TB internal storage is also a key differentiator in the current market for handheld gaming PCs.
Additionally, the ROG Ally X includes a second USB port, allowing for simultaneous peripheral connection and charging. The offer at Best Buy is expected to be popular, and may sell out quickly.
