The Asus ROG Pelta gaming headset, praised for its comfort and suitability for warmer conditions, is now available at a significantly reduced price. Amazon is offering the headset for $79, marking a saving of over $50 from its original $130 retail price.
Launched last year and reviewed favorably, the ROG Pelta garnered an 84% score, particularly noted for its sound quality and comfortable design. While its microphone is considered adequate for calls and meetings, it may not be suitable for professional voice work like podcasting. The headset's audio performance is described as clear and distinct, capable of rendering subtle in-game sounds like footsteps, while also providing a full sound profile for music and cutscenes. Bass is present, though not overpowering, ensuring a balanced listening experience.
The headset weighs 309 grams and features soft, breathable earcups, contributing to its comfortable wear, even during extended use in hot weather. The design is understated, with a prominent ROG logo on one earcup being the main aesthetic feature. Integrated controls on the left earcup are functional and easy to locate.
Battery life is a notable strong point, offering up to 90 hours of usage with Bluetooth, RGB lighting, and the microphone muted. This extended battery performance makes the Pelta a viable option for travel or long gaming sessions away from a power source.
Overall, the Asus ROG Pelta is positioned as a solid all-around gaming headset, excelling in comfort and battery life, making it a compelling option at its current discounted price point. The headset's lightweight design and pleasant audio make it a comfortable companion for prolonged gaming sessions.
