Best Buy is currently offering an excellent condition open-box Asus ROG Xbox Ally X handheld gaming PC for $899.99. This price represents a $100 discount compared to the unit's standard $1,000 retail price.
The Asus ROG Xbox Ally X is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, paired with a 1TB SSD. It runs on the Windows operating system, featuring Xbox integration, and is capable of running modern AAA Steam games. IGN's reviewers have lauded the device as the best Windows-based handheld gaming PC available, recommending it over the Steam Deck.
These open-box units are verified by Geek Squad and come with a 15-day return policy. The "excellent condition" designation indicates the device is in like-new functional and cosmetic state with minimal usage, and may retain a portion of its original manufacturer's warranty.
Compared to other high-end handheld gaming PCs with similar specifications, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X offers competitive pricing. For instance, the Lenovo Legion Go 2 is priced at $1,300, and the MSI Claw A8 costs $1,200. The newer Xbox Ally X20, featuring an OLED display, is available for preorder at $1,299.99, a $400 increase over the $899.99 open-box Ally X deal.
