Barnes & Noble has launched its annual Criterion Collection summer sale, offering a 50% discount on a wide array of titles. This promotion applies to most physical media releases within the Criterion Collection, excluding preorders.
The sale includes price reductions across different formats. 4K Blu-rays are available for $24.99, down from $49.99, while HD Blu-rays are priced at $19.99, reduced from $39.99. Standard DVDs are also discounted to $14.99 from their usual $29.99.
While the sale is ongoing, some users have reported that the 50% discount may not be immediately visible on all items. In such cases, adding the item to the cart or waiting for the price to update automatically is recommended. Some larger collections, such as the 10-film Wes Anderson box set, are also included in the sale.
Newer releases that are part of the discount include Joachim Trier’s "Sentimental Value," "Monty Python’s Life of Brian," and Martin Scorsese’s "Killers of the Flower Moon." Classic films like "The Princess Bride" are also available at the reduced price.
The Criterion Collection sale is expected to run for a full month, providing ample time for consumers to make their selections. Although the promotion is currently exclusive to Barnes & Noble, both online and in physical stores, it is anticipated that Amazon may match these prices in the near future, aligning with typical retail competition during major sales events.
