Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days event is offering significant discounts on specialized guitar controllers for Fortnite Festival, bringing down the cost of peripherals that enhance the rhythm game experience. Both PDP and CRKD branded controllers, designed to mimic the feel of real instruments, are now available at reduced prices, making them more accessible for players looking to relive the glory days of games like Rock Band or dive into Fortnite's musical offerings.
While Fortnite Festival can be played with a standard keyboard and mouse, the use of a dedicated guitar controller significantly boosts immersion. Companies like CRKD and PDP have developed high-quality controllers specifically for Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4. Historically, the primary barrier to entry for these controllers has been their cost, making current Prime Day deals particularly attractive.
The PDP Riffmaster controller is available in dedicated models for Xbox, Switch 2, and PlayStation 5, with varying PC compatibility. These controllers are currently 40% off, bringing the price down to $89.99, just $10 above their all-time lowest price. IGN's review of the PDP Riffmaster highlighted its excellent button feel, impressive battery life, and practical design features, noting it closely resembles the original Rock Band Stratocaster with a quieter strum bar and a collapsible neck for portability.
Similarly, CRKD's Gibson Les Paul guitar controllers are also on sale, with discounts up to 30% across PS5, Xbox, and multiplatform variants. These controllers offer additional customization through the CRKD app and support a lower latency wired connection, which is beneficial for players of titles like Clone Hero. CRKD controllers also come in a wider variety of color options.
Discussions on platforms like Reddit indicate a strong community interest in comparing these controllers, with many users sharing their experiences and preferences. For those new to Fortnite Festival, the mode offers a modern take on rhythm gaming within the popular Fortnite ecosystem. Unlike older titles with fixed song lists, Fortnite Festival features a rotating selection of free songs each season, alongside the option to purchase additional tracks through microtransactions. The game mode also includes a Battle Pass. Recent seasons have featured artists such as Lil Tecca, Hatsune Miku, Metallica, and Chappell Roan, underscoring its broad musical appeal.
