Students seeking a versatile laptop that balances portability with gaming performance can find a significant deal on the Gigabyte AERO X16 16" gaming laptop at Walmart. The device is currently available for $1,099, featuring a $600 instant discount and free shipping. This offer targets those needing a machine for academic tasks that can also serve for entertainment.
The AERO X16 is designed with portability in mind, weighing approximately 4.6 pounds. Despite its light build, it houses a 16-inch IPS display with a 2560x1600 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Powering the laptop is an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU, an 8-core, 16-thread processor with a boost clock of up to 5GHz, complemented by a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI acceleration. For graphics, it features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 mobile GPU with an 85W TGP. The system is equipped with 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM and a 1TB SSD.
The RTX 5060 mobile GPU, while configured at 85W TGP (below its 115W maximum), is noted to provide solid gaming performance. This power configuration can contribute to lower heat output and extended battery life, offering a more power-efficient alternative to higher-wattage GPUs, particularly in games supporting DLSS 4.5. The laptop is capable of running most titles at the display's native 1600p resolution, though demanding games may require adjustments to graphical settings for optimal performance.
