A significant post-Prime Day deal has landed, offering the Glorious Model D 2 wireless gaming mouse at a steep discount. Available for as low as $15 for first-time Woot users (or $20 for returning customers with code 'Glorious'), this represents a substantial markdown on a relatively modern peripheral.
Gaming Performance and Features
The Model D 2 boasts a 26,000 DPI sensor, a 1,000 Hz polling rate, and Glorious' BAMF 2.0 sensor, which proved viable for competitive play during testing. The mouse weighs 66g, a balance that avoids being overly heavy while not being ultra-light by current standards. Its ergonomic design was noted as comfortable for palm use.
Battery Life and Connectivity
Battery performance is a strong suit for the Model D 2, offering up to 110 hours of use in its 2.4 GHz wireless mode. This extends to 210 hours when using Bluetooth, making it a versatile option for both desktop gaming and mobile use. The mouse was successfully tested for this dual functionality, connecting to an iPad and then being used for shooter games on a PC.
Design and Customization
The mouse features extensive RGB lighting, though this can significantly reduce battery life by up to 90% at full brightness. The honeycomb design, while not universally appealing, was found to be unobtrusive during testing. The clicks and scroll wheel were described as satisfying and accurate.
Value Proposition
While the Model D 2 may have struggled to stand out at its original $100 price point in 2024, the current sub-$20 pricing makes it an exceptional value. The author expressed surprise at the low price, noting that the limit of two mice per account on Woot is the only significant concern. The deal is so compelling that purchasing two units for personal use and a friend was considered.
