The Klipsch ProMedia Lumina 2.1 computer speakers, a modern overhaul of a long-standing audio staple, are currently available at a significant discount. Amazon is offering the speakers for $249.99, a 34% reduction from their original $379.99 launch price, well ahead of the Black Friday shopping period. The new model represents the first complete redesign for the ProMedia line in over two decades.
The Lumina 2.1 system features a revised aesthetic, combining a two-tone black and silver finish with wood-grain accents, aiming for a more sophisticated look suitable for various desk setups. Subtle RGB lighting, designed to project onto the wall behind the speakers, is also included. The 2.1 channel configuration remains, with the satellite speakers now slightly larger and housing a 3-inch mid-range driver and a 1-inch mylar tweeter coupled with a Microtractrix horn. The subwoofer is slimmer than its predecessor and includes a side-firing port with a 6.5-inch woofer.
Quality-of-life improvements for the Lumina include modern connectivity options such as USB Type-C for PC connection and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless audio streaming. The system is also supported by the Klipsch Control desktop application, which provides users with the ability to customize EQ settings and RGB lighting directly from their computer.
