Amazon has dropped the price of the LEGO Icons Transformers: Soundwave set to its lowest point yet, offering it for $163.99. This represents a saving of $26 off the set's usual $189.99 retail price.
The 1,505-piece set allows builders to construct a detailed replica of the Generation 1 Decepticon. The set includes accessories such as Soundwave's signature laser blaster and rocket pod. As with the iconic character, the LEGO Soundwave can transform into a cassette player.
Further enhancing the playability, the set comes with miniature figures of Ravage and Laserbeak, which can be stored within Soundwave's cassette bay in their own cassette forms. A special sound brick is also integrated into the build, allowing the Soundwave model to play voice lines and sound effects when a 'play' button is pressed, evoking the character's presence from the 1980s.
IGN's Seth Macy described the set as "a beautiful 80s dream come true" in his build review, praising the "attention to detail, the cleverness employed in its transforming design, and the fact he can freaking talk."
