This particular model of the Legion Go S features an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 32GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. It operates on SteamOS, differentiating it from Windows-based handhelds. The Z1 Extreme processor is noted for its superior performance compared to the APU found in the Steam Deck, offering enhanced graphics and smoother gameplay. This advantage is further supported by the Legion Go S's larger 8-inch, 1200p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and its support for higher charging rates up to 100W.
An IGN review of the Legion Go S (Z1 Extreme, SteamOS model) awarded it a 9/10, describing it as one of the "best handheld gaming PCs on the market when it first released and a legitimate Steam Deck alternative." The reviewer also expressed a preference for the Steam operating system over Windows, even with the introduction of newer handhelds.
This deal is particularly timely as it precedes the Black Friday shopping period, offering a significant saving of $98 off the standard retail price for the weekend.
