Magic: The Gathering x Star Trek Booster Box Drops to All-Time Low Price Ahead of Launch

Magic: The Gathering's highly anticipated Star Trek crossover set is seeing a significant preorder discount on Amazon, dropping the price of a Play Booster Box to its lowest point ever. The box, which contains 30 packs, is currently available for $139.99, a substantial reduction from its $209.70 MSRP. This deal brings the cost per pack down to approximately $4.66 from the standard retail price of $6.99.

The Star Trek set joins a growing list of Universes Beyond collaborations for Magic: The Gathering, following recent releases themed around Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel Super Heroes, and The Hobbit. This particular set appears to build upon the in-universe space opera narrative established in Magic's own Edge of Eternities set.

While Collector Boosters, which typically contain the most valuable cards, are currently sold out, the Play Boosters offer players a way to assemble their own Starfleet. In addition to the Play Booster box discount, Amazon is also offering reduced prices on three of the four accompanying Commander decks. The 'Landing Party' deck is priced at $69.82 (down from $74.99), while 'Klingon Fury' and 'We Are The Borg' have also seen price drops. Only the 'Federation Fleet' Commander deck remains at its original MSRP.

It is worth noting that the Play Booster Box had previously been discounted by 19%. However, Amazon's preorder price guarantee ensures that customers who preordered at that earlier price will automatically receive the new, lower price.
