PC players can currently preorder Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 for a 23% discount, bringing the price down to $38.49 from its $49.99 MSRP. This offer is available through Fanatical and is set to conclude on August 27, coinciding with the game's release date or when the vendor's supply of Steam codes is exhausted.
This second volume in the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection series follows the well-received first volume, which featured the initial trilogy. Vol. 2 includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (HD Collection version), and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. Notably, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is making its debut on platforms outside of the PlayStation 3. The game received a perfect 10/10 score from IGN upon its original release in 2008.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, originally released for the PS Vita in 2010, is also a key component of the Metal Gear Solid narrative. IGN awarded it a 9.5/10 and recognized it as one of the best games on the platform, praising its adaptation of the console experience for portable play. It is also listed at number 45 on IGN's list of the Best PlayStation Games of All Time.
The collection also features Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, a non-canon entry originally released for Game Boy in 2000, as a bonus inclusion.
In addition to the games, the Master Collection Vol. 2 comes with substantial extra content. This includes the Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack Vol.2 with 16 tracks. Owners of save data from the first Master Collection will receive digital bonus items such as Gold Camouflage for MGS4 and a Gold Uniform for MGS: Peace Walker. Both Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will include digital screenplay books and digital master books. The Metal Gear Solid 4 entry also includes its original database.
Preordering the collection also grants exclusive in-game preorder bonuses: Cardboard Camouflage for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and the LOVE BOX Uniform for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is scheduled to launch on Thursday, August 29. The discounted preorder offer is specifically for the Steam version on PC. The collection is also slated for release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
