Walmart is currently featuring a notable discount on the MSI Codex R2 Intel Edition RTX 5070 Prebuilt Gaming PC, bringing its price down to $1,449 with free delivery. The system is sold and shipped directly by Walmart, not through a third-party marketplace vendor.
This prebuilt desktop is configured for strong performance in 1080p and 1440p gaming scenarios and is also capable of running games at 4K resolution. The MSI Codex R2 is powered by an air-cooled Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor, which boasts 20 cores and a maximum boost clock of 5.3GHz, making it suitable for both gaming and multitasking. Complementing the CPU is a GeForce RTX 5070 GPU with 12GB of VRAM, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. The system is supported by a 750W power supply.
The GeForce RTX 5070 is positioned as an excellent GPU choice for 1080p and 1440p gaming. While it can handle most titles at 4K, users seeking higher frame rates at that resolution might see benefits from upgrading to an RTX 5070 Ti. Performance-wise, the RTX 5070 offers a modest improvement over the previous generation's RTX 4070 Super, with more significant gains in games that utilize DLSS 4.5 features, including multi-frame generation.
