Walmart has significantly reduced the price of the MSI Codex Z2 gaming PC, now available for $1,699, a $600 discount from its usual $2,300 price tag. This deal represents the lowest price observed for a system featuring the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card in recent months.
The RTX 5070 Ti graphics card alone typically retails between $950 and $1,000. This particular GPU is well-suited for 4K gaming, capable of achieving 60 frames per second or more in demanding titles. It also boasts 16GB of VRAM, comparable to the RTX 5080, making it a viable option for AI-related tasks.
The MSI Codex Z2 gaming PC is configured with an AMD Ryzen 7 8700F processor, which offers 8 cores and 16 threads with a maximum boost clock of 5.1GHz. While not the most cutting-edge CPU, it provides sufficient performance to avoid bottlenecking the RTX 5070 Ti, particularly at higher resolutions. The system also includes 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD for fast storage. Powering the components is a 750W 80Plus Gold certified power supply.
In performance benchmarks, the RTX 5070 Ti has been noted to perform comparably to the previous generation's RTX 4080 Super. Its capabilities are further enhanced by support for multi-frame generation, especially with recent advancements like DLSS 4.5, making it adept at running modern titles such as Death Stranding 2 and Crimson Desert at 4K resolution with smooth frame rates.
Given the scarcity and high cost of standalone RTX 5070 Ti cards, purchasing a prebuilt system like the MSI Codex Z2 at this discounted price presents an opportunity to acquire the GPU without a significant markup.
