A brand-new hardcover box set encompassing the first five books in Sarah J. Maas's popular "A Court of Thorns and Roses" (ACOTAR) series has received a substantial price cut on Amazon shortly after its availability. This release coincides with the upcoming launch of "A Court of Splintered Harmony," the sixth book in the series, scheduled for October 27.
While not the first hardcover collection for the ACOTAR series, this particular box set is designed with the forthcoming hardcovers in mind. It offers a uniform aesthetic for readers planning to collect the new releases in hardcover format.
The box set, which became available for preorder in early September, was previously priced at $117.48. This price point essentially equated to $23 per book, a figure higher than purchasing the existing hardcovers individually. The premium was attributed to the desire for matching spines for bookshelf display. The design of the original hardcovers featured more intricate spine details, which have been simplified for newer releases, identified by a single symbol and the book title.
Details regarding a future box set containing all seven books have not yet been released, and currently, these hardcover editions are the sole planned formats for the new installments. It is anticipated that paperback releases will eventually adopt this newer design.
Upcoming Book Release Dates
The sixth installment, "A Court of Splintered Harmony," is slated for release on October 27. The seventh book is scheduled for January 12, 2027. Maas has also indicated that an eighth book is planned, though no release date has been announced.
Beyond the books themselves, the ACOTAR series has seen a surge in new merchandise throughout the year, including Funko Pop! figures, jewelry, and tabletop adaptations.
