Nintendo has announced a new "Customer Appreciation" Sale in the United States, offering a 30% discount on a wide selection of Nintendo Switch games, downloadable content, accessories, amiibo, and apparel. The sale is scheduled to run from September 13 through September 26.

A full list of participating products has not yet been released, but the discounts will be available across the Nintendo eShop, the Nintendo Store, and other participating retailers.

According to Nintendo, the promotion is "made possible in part by tariff-related refunds." The company stated that while it absorbed the majority of tariff-related costs, these refunds have enabled the creation of this new sale.

This announcement follows previous scrutiny regarding Nintendo's handling of funds returned after a challenge to the US tariff regime. The company had previously increased prices on some Switch products globally, citing factors such as tariffs, rising component costs, and increased shipping expenses. At the time, Nintendo argued that customers were not entitled to retroactive refunds for purchases made at these higher prices, even after a court ruled certain tariffs illegal, asserting that consumers had received "exactly what they bargained and paid for."

Despite its previous stance, Nintendo now attributes the current sale to these tariff-related refunds, noting that while most costs were absorbed, the refunds contributed to making this promotion feasible.
