Amazon is offering a "Like New" Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for $48.12, including free shipping. This deal comes via Amazon Resale, the company's official channel for pre-owned items. According to Amazon, these controllers "look and function as if they were new and come in original packaging." The purchase is also protected by Amazon's standard 30-day return policy.
The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is noted for its build quality and ergonomics, often considered superior to many third-party alternatives. While the newer Switch 2 Pro controller is available for $89, the original Switch Pro controller provides a similar gaming experience for nearly half the price. The deal automatically applies a 15% discount at checkout.
Cosmetically, the original Switch Pro controller is smoke gray, contrasting with the black Switch 2 Pro controller. Both share the same robust construction. However, the original Switch Pro controller lacks some features found on its successor. It cannot wake the console from sleep mode, and it omits the two rear paddle switches, GameChat button, and headphone jack present on the Switch 2 Pro. Additionally, while the original supports HD Rumble, the Switch 2 Pro features an upgraded "HD Rumble 2."
Despite these differences, the original Switch Pro controller remains compatible with the Switch 2 console and offers a compelling value proposition for those seeking an enhanced gaming experience without the premium price tag of the latest model.
