The acclaimed animated series Over the Garden Wall is currently available on Blu-ray for $8 as part of Gruv's Labor Day sale. The 10-episode series, which evokes a cozy autumnal feeling, received its first Blu-ray release earlier this year and offers a permanent addition to home collections.
While the Blu-ray edition was released in April and typically retails for around $18 on both Gruv and Amazon, the current sale makes it a more attractive purchase. The sale also presents an opportunity to acquire other animated titles at discounted prices. Among the notable offerings are The Iron Giant, available in a signature edition with bonus features, and a selection of DreamWorks classics including El Dorado, Prince of Egypt, Antz, Chicken Run, and Megamind.
For those looking to expand their collection of animated content further, Gruv is also discounting classic cartoons such as Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, and The Flintstones during the Labor Day event.
The article notes that for 2D animation, a 1080p resolution on Blu-ray is generally sufficient and offers a significant upgrade in sound and picture quality over DVD, without the diminishing returns that might be seen with higher resolutions for this type of content.
