Best Buy is currently offering discounted prices on preowned Asus ROG Xbox Ally X handheld gaming PCs. These open-box units can be purchased for as low as $789.99 for a "Fair Condition" model, representing a substantial saving from the device's $1,000 retail price. A unit in "Excellent Condition" is available for $849.99.
These Geek Squad-verified preowned devices come with a 15-day return policy. "Excellent Condition" units are described as being in like-new functional and cosmetic condition with minimal usage, and may retain some of their original warranty.
The Asus ROG Xbox Ally X is recognized as a leading Windows gaming handheld. It features an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, enabling it to run modern AAA games. The device operates on Windows with integrated Xbox features. IGN has previously recommended the Xbox Ally X over the Steam Deck for its performance and user experience.
Compared to other handhelds utilizing the same Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU, the Xbox Ally X offers a more competitive price point. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 retails for $1,300, the MSI Claw A8 is priced at $1,200, and the newer Asus ROG Ally X20 is available for preorder at $1,299.99. While the X20 introduces improvements such as an OLED display, its significantly higher cost makes the discounted Ally X models a compelling alternative for budget-conscious buyers.
