Proton has launched its Black Friday sale early, offering substantial discounts on its privacy-focused services. Customers can now get Proton Unlimited for $6.49 per month, which amounts to paying just under $80 upfront for a year's subscription. This price typically covers only six months of the service.
Proton Unlimited bundles several of Proton's offerings. Subscribers gain access to Proton Mail and Calendar, which are presented as privacy-oriented alternatives to Google's services, featuring end-to-end encryption and an ad-free experience. The plan also includes 500 GB of storage for Proton Drive, a secure cloud storage solution, and Proton Pass, a password manager designed to generate and store strong passwords.
Additionally, Proton Unlimited includes Proton VPN, a service that encrypts internet traffic, masks IP addresses, and can bypass geo-restrictions. For those interested solely in Proton VPN, a 24-month plan is available for just over $70, equating to $3 per month and saving customers $168. In the UK, the Proton VPN subscription is priced at £2.39 per month, with Proton Unlimited at £5.19 per month.
These deals provide an opportunity for users looking to switch from services like Google or enhance their online privacy. The discounts are available across various Proton services, with the VPN seeing up to a 70% reduction and the Unlimited plan offering a 50% discount.
