Dell Outlet is currently featuring a refurbished Alienware 18 Area-51 gaming laptop equipped with an RTX 5080 GPU, available for approximately $2,450 with an additional 12% discount for a limited time. This offer includes a one-year warranty, matching the coverage provided for new systems.
The "Scratch and Dent" model boasts an 18-inch 2560x1600 display with a 300Hz G-Sync refresh rate, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, an RTX 5080 16GB graphics card, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Both the memory and storage are noted as being easily upgradeable by the user.
The Area-51 18 represents Alienware's most premium laptop offering, featuring a sleeker design with rounded edges compared to previous squared-off models. Its construction utilizes anodized aluminum for the lid and chassis with an iridescent finish, complemented by a magnesium alloy frame. Cooling has been improved with increased copper content and a new thermal interface, designed to handle up to a 240W TDP without significant acoustic impact.
The mobile RTX 5080 GPU is reported to be approximately 15-20% more powerful than the RTX 5070 Ti and comparable to the previous generation's flagship RTX 4090, particularly in games supporting DLSS 4.5, while offering better power efficiency. This configuration should be capable of running modern titles at the native 2.5K resolution with consistent frame rates exceeding 60 FPS. A new configuration of this laptop starts at $4,200.
