Roku's 65-Inch OLED TV Plummets to $799.99 During October Prime Day Sale

OLED televisions, often considered the premier choice for gaming, are currently available at a significant discount during Amazon's October Prime Day Sale. Roku's 65-inch Pro 4K OLED TV has dropped to $799.99, with free shipping, for a limited two-day period. A 55-inch version of the same model is also on sale for $699.99.

The Roku Pro-series OLED TV, released earlier this year, features a 4K W-OLED panel and a native 120Hz refresh rate. With HDMI 2.1 inputs, it is well-suited for current-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While typically less expensive than many other OLEDs, this Roku model retains the key advantages of OLED technology, including near-instantaneous response times, true black levels, infinite contrast ratios, and wide viewing angles. A notable integration is the Roku smart interface, which is built directly into the television.

Many consider the Roku interface to be superior to other built-in smart TV platforms such as Google TV, Tizen, WebOS, or Fire TV. It is praised for its user-friendliness, lightweight performance, and extensive app compatibility without forcing users into a specific ecosystem. This makes it a versatile option for accessing a wide range of streaming content.

For console gaming, the Switch 2 has relatively modest display requirements. When docked and connected to a TV, it outputs a 4K signal at up to 60 frames per second. While it can achieve 120fps at a 1080p resolution, the data rate is similar, and playing in 4K is generally preferred. Regardless of the console, the Switch 2 will benefit from the visual enhancements provided by an OLED panel's image quality.
