Walmart is currently selling the LEGO Game Boy 72046 building set for $59.99, matching the standard retail price. However, a hidden coupon code, "SAVE3X," may provide an additional $10 discount for eligible customers. This code is advertised as valid for new Walmart customers on their first three online pickup or delivery orders with a minimum of $35. While intended for new users, some returning customers have reported success using the code.
The LEGO Game Boy 72046 is a 1:1 scale replica of the original 1989 Nintendo handheld. It features classic design elements such as a two-tone gray color scheme, magenta control buttons, and a contrast dial. Notably, all text and logos on the console itself are printed bricks, with no stickers applied. The set includes two interchangeable "game" cartridges: Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, each with a lenticular screen element. The game labels are stickers, mirroring the original cartridges.
Developed for builders aged 18 and up, the set offers a relatively quick and enjoyable construction experience. IGN's own testing indicated a build time of approximately one hour. The recommended age group reflects the nostalgia factor for individuals who grew up playing titles like Super Mario Land and Link's Awakening on the original Game Boy. Even at its full retail price, the set is considered a strong collectible for fans of both LEGO and gaming.
This offer presents an opportunity for LEGO enthusiasts and Nintendo fans to acquire a detailed replica of a beloved gaming icon at a reduced price, provided the coupon code is applicable to their account.
