A promotion is currently underway on Giftcards.com that offers a 10% discount on LEGO eGift cards, providing an indirect way to save on purchases from the official online LEGO Store. This deal is particularly relevant for those eyeing the large Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith set, which retails for $650.
The promotion allows for savings on LEGO eGift cards for a limited time, with no apparent limit on how many gift cards can be purchased to receive the discount. These gift cards can be used for any items available on the online LEGO Store. However, a restriction is in place limiting the use of only three gift cards per transaction.
According to IGN's LEGO editor Chris Reed, who tested the promo code, the 10% discount applies to various price points. While there's a cap of $250 per entry and a limit of 50 gift cards that can be managed, the savings potential is directly tied to the total amount spent on the gift cards.
To leverage this discount for the Minas Tirith set, a specific calculation is needed to adhere to the three-gift-card limit. Purchasing three gift cards, each at a custom amount of $216.66, would allow a buyer to reach the set's $650 price point while maximizing the benefit of the promo code. After acquiring the eGift cards, they can be applied during the checkout process on the online LEGO Store.
The LEGO Minas Tirith set is a LEGO Exclusive, meaning it is only available through the official LEGO channels. The set is currently on backorder and is not available for immediate shipment. As with many high-value purchases, customers may also qualify for a Gift with Purchase promotion.
For those considering the Minas Tirith set, a review from IGN highlights its detailed representation of the "race of Men," comparing its clarity to the depiction of Elves in the LEGO Rivendell set and awarding it "highest recommendation."
