Amazon is currently offering a $400 discount on the Skytech Shadow 5 gaming PC, bringing its price down to $1,499.99. This prebuilt desktop is configured for optimal performance in 1080p and 1440p gaming resolutions, complete with free shipping.
The Skytech Shadow 5 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti graphics card with 16GB of VRAM, 16GB of DDR5-6000MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe solid-state drive. The Ryzen 7 9700X is an 8-core, 16-thread CPU that can boost up to 5.5GHz, a clock speed that benefits gaming performance, as few titles utilize more than six or eight cores.
A key feature of this particular build is the RTX 5060 Ti variant with 16GB of VRAM. This is a significant advantage over the 8GB models commonly found in other prebuilt systems. The increased VRAM is crucial for maintaining higher frame rates and smoother gameplay, especially in demanding titles and at higher resolutions. Extensive testing has shown a substantial performance difference between the 8GB and 16GB versions of the RTX 5060 Ti, with the latter offering superior performance.
The RTX 5060 Ti (16GB) is particularly well-suited for 1080p gaming, reportedly outperforming the RTX 4060 Ti by approximately 20%, with even larger gains in games that support DLSS 4.5 multi-frame generation technology. The 16GB of VRAM also enables the card to handle 1440p gaming effectively, providing a viable option for players who do not wish to invest in a more expensive RTX 5070.
