For those seeking to enhance their home theater with Dolby Atmos, Amazon is currently providing a significant discount on the Sonos Arc Ultra soundbar. The flagship device is available for $899, complete with free shipping, thanks to an instant $200 price reduction. This deal positions the Arc Ultra as an attractive option for a sleek, minimalist Dolby Atmos setup.
The Sonos Arc Ultra represents a substantial upgrade over its predecessor, the original Sonos Arc. While maintaining the same 46-inch length, the internal components have been significantly revised. The Arc Ultra features an expanded 9.4.1 channel configuration with fourteen speakers, incorporating a four-motor, dual-membrane Sound Motion woofer designed to improve bass response and low-end performance. This marks a notable advancement compared to the previous generation's 5.0.2 channel setup, which utilized eleven speakers without an integrated subwoofer.
Despite the enhanced internal subwoofer, the Arc Ultra still offers an optional connection for a separate subwoofer for users who desire even more powerful low-end output, though it is not required for adding a secondary speaker. The soundbar's Dolby Atmos capabilities are supported by two dedicated up-firing tweeters that create spatial audio effects. Additionally, new AI enhancement technology is employed to isolate and clarify dialogue, ensuring voices are distinct. The inclusion of a built-in microphone allows for voice command control through compatible smart assistants.
