Amazon is offering a substantial discount on the TP-Link Deco 7 Pro BE63 BE10000 Whole Home Mesh System, reducing its price by 36% from $499 to $322.19 for a limited time. This deal positions the Wi-Fi 7 mesh system, which is Amazon's number one best-selling Wi-Fi 7 router, as a value-oriented option with premium features.
The TP-Link Deco 7 Pro BE63 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh networking system that includes three satellites, any of which can function as the primary router. Mesh systems use these satellites to extend wireless coverage throughout a home, with more units generally providing better reach. The included three satellites are expected to adequately cover most residential layouts.
Wireless capabilities of the system include support for Wi-Fi 7 with MLO (Multi-Link Operation), enabling simultaneous use of the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. The router can utilize 320MHz channels on the 6GHz band, a feature not available with Wi-Fi 6e. TP-Link claims theoretical speeds of up to 10Gbps, though real-world performance is closer to 2Gbps under ideal conditions, which is double the speed of a standard gigabit connection.
On the wired side, each satellite is equipped with four 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports. These ports support wired backhaul, a feature that can enhance mesh network performance by using a physical cable connection between the router and satellites. For users with internet service exceeding gigabit speeds, these 2.5Gbps ports are crucial for maximizing bandwidth. While other routers offer faster 5Gbps or 10Gbps ports, they typically come at a much higher price point.
It is worth noting that the availability of new TP-Link Wi-Fi routers in the US may become limited. A ban on the sale of new foreign-made Wi-Fi routers has been implemented, affecting brands like TP-Link. This restriction applies only to new products, not those already on the market. Once the current models are phased out, acquiring them domestically could become more challenging.
