A unique opportunity to acquire a premium virtual reality headset for a minimal cost is currently available through Fanatical's Mystery Chest Bundle. For as little as $1, players can purchase a Steam key, which not only adds a game to their PC library but also enters them into a draw for a chance to win a 1TB Steam Frame headset.
The Steam Frame is highlighted as a compelling option for VR enthusiasts, offering advantages such as superior weight distribution for comfort during extended play sessions, increased RAM, and integrated eye tracking. Crucially, it provides direct access to the Steam VR library, allowing standalone experiences of PC VR titles. This is particularly significant for games like Half-Life: Alyx, Vertigo 2, and the PC version of Blade & Sorcery, which offer a more intense or nuanced experience compared to their standalone or mobile counterparts and require robust PC hardware to run.
While the Meta Quest 3 is noted as a more budget-friendly choice in the VR market, the Steam Frame targets a more dedicated audience who may wish to bypass entry-level headsets. The significant retail price of high-end VR hardware can be a barrier for new users, but this promotion offers a low-risk way to potentially obtain a top-tier device. The Mystery Chest Bundle allows users to buy one Steam key for $1 or up to 25 keys for $17.49, with each key granting a game and an entry into the grand prize draw. Beyond the grand prize, bundles can also yield major releases or packs of premium games.
This promotion is a collaboration between Fanatical's deals team and GameSpot. Both GameSpot and Fanatical are owned by Fandom.
