Amazon is currently offering a $40 discount on Microsoft's professional-grade Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller, bringing the price down to $109.99 with free shipping. The controller is priced at $150 elsewhere.
The Elite Series 2 Core shares the same physical design and integrated features as the original $200 Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. These features include adjustable-tension thumbsticks, a wrap-around rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks. The Core model omits the accessories included with the standard Elite Series 2, such as additional paddles, thumbsticks, a D-pad, and a travel case. These accessories can be purchased separately as a component pack for $59.99.
This price reduction could potentially signal the upcoming release of a successor. Recent rumors suggest that an Xbox Elite Series 3 controller may be in development, though its launch price is anticipated to be similar to or higher than the original Elite Series 2's initial $179.99 price point, especially considering the $200 cost of the Elite Series 2 with its full accessory set.
