Avengers: Doomsday Poster Sparks Mystery Around Latverian Witches

A recently unveiled poster for Avengers: Doomsday from Comic-Con Málaga has intensified speculation regarding the identity of the mysterious "Latverian Witches" featured in the film. The poster places Doctor Doom at the base of a grand staircase, with three witches, each adorned in a different color, standing behind him. While these figures have been colloquially named Latverian Witches, Marvel has yet to provide official details about them.

These characters are expected to play a role in Doctor Doom's plans within Avengers: Doomsday. However, it seems unlikely they will be entirely new creations, leading to theories that they could be established figures from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The magical elements of the MCU offer several potential candidates. Characters like Doctor Strange, Clea, and Scarlet Witch are considered strong possibilities, especially given their current whereabouts remain undisclosed following Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Other fan theories suggest Bruce Banner could be one of the witches, particularly given his abduction by Doctor Doom at the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame Encore. Sylvie from the Loki series is another contender due to her association with the destabilizing multiverse. More speculative possibilities include characters from Agatha All Along, such as Agatha Harkness, Jennifer Kale, or even Death.

With Marvel Studios typically withholding such reveals until release, the true identities of the Latverian Witches are likely to remain a subject of discussion until Avengers: Doomsday premieres on December 18.
