Death Stranding Isolations Anime Series Gets First Trailer, Confirms 2027 Disney+ Debut

Kojima Productions has released the first trailer for Death Stranding Isolations, an original anime series set within the world of the acclaimed video game Death Stranding. The series is slated to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2027.

The trailer, shared via tweet, depicts a young blonde girl being awakened by nightmares of tar. The accompanying text from Kojima Productions states, "My mom became a crater." The series is described as featuring an original story driven by its own unique ensemble of characters, indicating that the game's main protagonists may not be central to the narrative.

Directed by Takayuki Sano, known for his extensive work on series such as Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen, Death Stranding Isolations will feature series composition and screenplay by Tow Ubukata, who has previously contributed to Psycho-Pass 3 and Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie. The animation will be handled by E&H production, recognized for their work on Undead Unluck: Winter Arc and Ninja Kamui.

This announcement follows previous news regarding Kojima's expanding media presence, including his intention to make cameos in live-action films and the recent revelation that his upcoming horror game, OD, co-developed with Jordan Peele, received a new poster. His next major espionage game, Physint, has also shifted its development platform from Sony to Xbox and features a cast including Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser, and Minami Hamabe.
