Disney plans to raise the price of its Disney+ subscription this week, according to a new report from Bloomberg. The ad-free tier will increase by $2.50, or approximately 13%, to $21.49 per month. This new price point brings Disney+ closer to Netflix's ad-free offering, which costs $26.99 a month for 4K resolution and multi-device access.
Similarly, Hulu's ad-free subscription is set to experience the same price increase. The bundled subscription offering both ad-free Disney+ and ad-free Hulu will rise by $2 to $21.99 per month, just 50 cents more than subscribing to each service individually.
These price adjustments are reportedly effective today, Wednesday, September 23, for new subscribers. Existing customers will see the new prices reflected on their next monthly billing cycle. For context, the ad-free Disney+ tier was priced at $10.99 per month as recently as 2023.
The announcement follows closely after Disney+ updated its user agreement for European subscribers, clarifying that advertisements will now be permitted before and after playback on all subscription tiers. US subscribers have not yet received a similar update to their agreement.
This marks another price adjustment for Disney+ in recent years, with the most recent increase occurring in October 2025.
