Leigh, known for her roles in "The Hateful Eight" and "Fargo," along with Spruell, who appeared in "Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," are among the new additions. Demetriou is recognized for his work in "Only Murders in the Building," while Linklater's voice can be heard as Batman in "Batman: Caped Crusader." Gleeson, recently seen in "Spider-Noir" and "The Banshees of Inisherin," also notably portrayed Knuckles McGinty in "Paddington 2."
Similar to the video game series, the Far Cry TV series is structured as an anthology, intending to feature new settings and characters in each subsequent season. This format suggests that the actors and their roles in the initial season may not carry over to future installments.
Development on the Far Cry game franchise itself has been relatively quiet since the release of "Far Cry 6" in 2021. Reports indicate that "Far Cry 7" is in development under Ubisoft's Creative House 1, also known as Vantage Studios. This studio is tasked with expanding established franchises like "Assassin's Creed" and "Rainbow Six," with a significant investment from Chinese technology conglomerate Tencent.
