Fast & Furious TV Series Greenlit at Peacock, Vin Diesel to Executive Produce

Peacock has officially greenlit a television series based on the Fast & Furious film franchise, with Vin Diesel set to serve as executive producer. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2028, the same year the franchise's final film is slated for release.

Diesel first announced the television expansion in May 2026, stating that fan demand had driven Universal Pictures to explore developing the IP further. He explained that the desire to expand the legacy characters' stories and enter the television space had been present for a decade, emphasizing the protection of the characters' integrity and international appeal within the new medium.

Mike Daniels, known for his work on "Sons of Anarchy," and Wolfe Coleman, who worked on "9-1-1: Lone Star," are attached as writers and co-runners for the show. This series is one of four planned for the Fast & Furious universe. Two other shows will be helmed by Nick Wooton of "The Endgame" and Charmaine DeGraté of "Griselda," with Joe Henderson of "Lucifer" and Ingrid Escajeda of "Griselda" handling the remaining two.

The franchise's eleventh and final film, titled "Fast Forever," is expected on March 17, 2028. Diesel previously discussed the film's development in June, detailing his negotiations with Universal Pictures to bring the finale back to Los Angeles, reconnect with car culture and street racing, and reunite the characters of Dom and Brian O’Conner. The potential return of O'Conner, a role originated by the late Paul Walker, has sparked speculation, with Walker's brother suggesting the use of AI for the character's appearance.
