In A Violent Nature 2 Sets February 2027 Release Date

The inventive slasher film In A Violent Nature, which gained traction in 2024, is set to unleash its sequel, In A Violent Nature: Part 2, in theaters on February 12, 2027. The announcement was made by horror streaming service Shudder and Independent Film Company at New York Comic Con.

The sequel continues the story of the masked killer Johnny, portrayed again by Ry Barrett. Following its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in September, the film's official synopsis details that Part 2 picks up immediately after the events of the first movie. Johnny's rampage leads him to a summer camp, where new victims await him amidst a party hosted by campers and counselors.

IFC and Shudder have indicated that In A Violent Nature: Part 2 will push boundaries with its gore and kills, featuring Johnny's signature weapon: a rusty metal hook attached to a large chain. The original 2024 film was noted for its unique perspective, telling the story from the killer's point of view. Critics praised its departure from traditional slasher tropes, describing stretches of the film as following Johnny's slow movement through the forest in a manner akin to watching a video game or an ASMR experience.

Co-directed by Nate Wilson and Chris Nash, who also penned the script, In A Violent Nature: Part 2 promises an expanded look into the lore of its titular antagonist. The original film, In A Violent Nature, is currently available for streaming on Hulu and Disney Plus.
