Joe Bennet, co-creator of the animated series Scavengers Reign and Common Side Effects, is set to debut a new project on Netflix titled Dealies. The animated series, slated for a 2027 release, centers on the eccentric employees of a big-box store and the humorous challenges they face. Bennet described the show as being more "comedy-focused" and drawing inspiration from his earlier, more comedy-based animated shorts.
Steve Hely, a collaborator of Bennet's on Common Side Effects, characterized Dealies as a "character-based" and "observed" series that captures "weirdness" within an otherwise real-world setting. The show's official logline outlines a staff of unusual characters, including a "savant salesman," a "gentle gladiator," and a "summoner of the divine," all working in a big-box store that faces competition from a nearby antique shop.
Bennet and Ted Travelstead are serving as showrunners, writers, and executive producers for the series, which is produced by Green Street Pictures, a studio co-founded by Bennet. While Netflix has not provided a specific release date, Dealies is currently anticipated to arrive sometime in 2027.
