Quentin Tarantino's extended version of his seminal martial arts saga, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, is set to release on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on July 28. Both a standard 4K edition and a Collector's Edition are currently available for preorder at select retailers, offering fans a chance to own the nearly four-and-a-half-hour film in high definition.
The standard 4K release includes the film on 4K Blu-ray, a standard Blu-ray copy, and a digital copy. It also features "The Lost Chapter" as a bonus.
The 4K Collector's Edition offers a more comprehensive package for dedicated fans. In addition to the 4K, Blu-ray, and digital versions of the film, this edition includes a 40-page behind-the-scenes booklet, two theatrical posters, five double-sided collectible character cards, and a 70mm film still. Notably, this release marks the first time the unrated version of the film has been presented in 4K with Dolby Vision.
Another unique inclusion in the Collector's Edition is "The Lost Chapter: Yuki's Revenge," a special collaboration that utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to expand the Kill Bill universe. The artwork featured on the edition is a collaborative effort from over a dozen Los Angeles artists, inspired by the iconic presence of The Bride.
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair has been met with critical acclaim. Reviewer Siddhant Adlakha described it as "the most fun four-and-a-half hours you’ll spend at the movies this year," awarding it a 9/10. This critical reception suggests the 4K release is a worthwhile addition to any film enthusiast's collection.
