Peacock is leaning heavily into horror for its October programming, introducing a significant collection of scary films and a new original series.
Starting October 1, the service will add numerous horror titles, including major franchises like Scream and Friday the 13th.
Central to the horror additions is the original Blade trilogy, featuring Wesley Snipes. Despite the recent cancellation of Marvel's upcoming Blade movie, the streaming availability of the original films offers a chance for fans to revisit the vampire-hunting action, with "Blade II" often cited as one of the best vampire films ever made.
Also arriving on October 1 is the 1999 version of "The Mummy." While not strictly a horror film, its inclusion is noted as a worthy rewatch, particularly as the franchise gears up for its fourth installment in October 2027, with Brendan Fraser reportedly training for the new movie.
The Korean zombie thriller "Train to Busan" will also be available on October 1. The film follows a businessman and his daughter as they navigate a train overrun by zombies, and it is recognized on lists of the best zombie movies.
Adding a new chapter to a classic horror saga, Peacock is launching its original prequel series "Crystal Lake" on October 15. The series explores the events leading up to the original "Friday the 13th" movie, focusing on Jason Voorhees' mother as she grapples with the aftermath of his death. This marks the first new Friday the 13th installment in 17 years.
Beyond these highlighted selections, Peacock's October lineup features a comprehensive list of horror and thriller films. Notable additions on October 1 include "3 From Hell," "10 Cloverfield Lane," "28 Weeks Later," "American Psycho," "The Boogeyman," "Cloverfield," "Coraline," "The Devil's Rejects," "Freaky," "From Dusk Till Dawn," "Hostel," "House of 1000 Corpses," "Jennifer's Body," "Krampus," "The Last Exorcism," "Leatherface," "Ma," "Monster House," "The Mummy Returns," "The Omen (1976)," "Paranormal Activity" (and its sequels), "The Ring," Rob Zombie's "Halloween" films, "Saw," "Scream" (1996), "Scream 2," "Scream 3," "Silent Hill," "Sinister," "The Strangers," "Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula," and "Van Helsing."
Further releases include "Night Swim" on October 5, and "Haunted Heist" and "Newlyweds" on October 24.
