Prime Video's reality competition series, Fallout Shelter: The Experiment, is set to premiere on January 13, 2027. According to an announcement made on Fallout Day, October 23, the first four episodes will be available on launch day, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly. The series will be accessible in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Fallout Shelter: The Experiment places everyday participants within Vault-Tec's bomb-proof vault shelters to test their post-apocalyptic survival skills. Contestants will face head-to-head drills, psychological dilemmas, and morally challenging trials, with the ultimate winner taking home $1 million.
The series is produced by Studio Lambert, known for The Traitors and The Circle, in co-production with Kilter Films, the production company of Fallout TV series creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Bethesda Game Studios is also involved, with Todd Howard and James Altman serving as executive producers.
This unscripted venture follows the success of Amazon's live-action Fallout adaptation, which received nine Emmy Award nominations for its second season, though it did not secure any wins.
