Jagex has announced that the world of RuneScape is expanding beyond its digital realms with a new animated adaptation. The series is being developed in collaboration with Lyrical Media, an independent film production company known for projects such as "Bruiser," "The Death of Robin Hood," and "Onslaught." Lyrical Media is also involved in animated adaptations of "Bloodborne" and "Death Stranding: Mosquito."
The RuneScape animated show will also feature the involvement of prominent gaming content creator Charlie "MoistCr1TiKaL" White. According to a Jagex representative, White, who is described as a dedicated player and fan of the game, is participating in the project as a "passion project for everyone involved."
While the specifics of White's contribution are not yet detailed, he has previous experience in various entertainment ventures, including an acting role in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," voice acting in anime and video games, and his own animated film adaptation of his graphic novel series, "Godslap," also with Lyrical Animation.
The announcement coincides with the reveal that RuneScape 4 is currently in development at Jagex.
