IO Interactive has added Jack, the bulldog from the recent James Bond films, to its game 007 First Light. This inclusion comes after the game surpassed seven million wishlists on Steam. Jack, appearing as a statue, was first introduced in the 2012 film Skyfall, where he was seen on M's desk and survived the explosion of the MI6 headquarters, albeit with some battle damage.
The character has since made appearances in Spectre and No Time To Die. In 007 First Light, Jack is now present in the game's TacSim lobby, offering players a "warm, loyal presence" between missions. Developers described him as "gruff on the outside but endlessly good-natured," noting that Bond himself has grown fond of the dog. Players are also able to pet the dog in-game.
This addition coincides with the release of the Extended Operations DLC for 007 First Light. This free update introduces a New Game+ mode, a new 00 difficulty setting, and a Photo Mode. The update also expands the TacSim content with a new mission located in Vietnam.
To celebrate these updates and milestones, 007 First Light is currently available at a 30% discount on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, bringing the price down to $49. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for release in March 2027.
The game's success and ongoing content updates suggest a sequel is likely, though it has not yet been officially confirmed. These developments occur shortly after October 5, recognized as James Bond Day, commemorating the anniversary of the first film, Dr. No, which premiered on October 5, 1962. In related news, all James Bond films were recently added to Amazon Prime Video.
